Position Summary:
The Senior Medical Officer – Naturopathy & Ozone Therapy provides clinical leadership and operational oversight for naturopathy and ozone programs. This role is responsible for conducting guest assessments, creating personalized treatment plans, administering therapies safely, monitoring outcomes, and leading junior medical officers, nurses, and therapists in strict compliance with safety SOPs and care standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Naturopathy & Integrative Treatment Planning
- Conduct comprehensive medical and wellness consultations for guests, including assessment of medical history, lifestyle, diet, existing conditions and wellness objectives.
- Evaluate guest health conditions using appropriate clinical and naturopathic assessment methods.
- Understand guest problem areas, symptoms and underlying health concerns based on medical history, lifestyle and available investigation reports.
- Assess complex medical histories and identify contraindications, risks and special requirements before prescribing therapies.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, including consultation findings, treatment plans, daily progress and clinical observations.
- Explain the proposed treatment plan, therapeutic rationale, precautions and follow-up requirements clearly to guests.
- Develop personalized naturopathic treatment plans based on consultation findings, medical history and available test results.
- Prescribe and oversee appropriate nature-cure therapies such as hydrotherapy, mud therapy, yoga, acupuncture, dietary interventions and other approved wellness therapies.
- Possess sound knowledge of various naturopathy treatments, including their physiological and therapeutic effects, indications, contraindications and crisis-management requirements.
- Provide appropriate diet, nutrition and lifestyle recommendations based on individual guest requirements.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge in managing lifestyle-related and chronic conditions such as hypertension, arthritis, hypothyroidism, obesity, acid-peptic disorders and other conditions within the scope of the role.
- Monitor guest progress throughout the program and modify treatment plans whenever clinically required.
- Ensure that prescribed therapies are administered according to approved protocols and quality standards.
Ozone Therapy – Clinical Responsibility
- Provide clinical direction and supervision for all approved ozone therapy modalities offered by the department.
- Conduct appropriate guest evaluation and determine suitability, indications and contraindications for ozone therapy.
- Prescribe individualized ozone therapy protocols, including appropriate treatment combinations and dosage within approved clinical guidelines.
- Ensure proper informed consent, clinical documentation and safety procedures before commencement of ozone therapy.
- Supervise the administration of ozone therapies and ensure adherence to established clinical protocols.
- Monitor guests during and after ozone therapy and ensure appropriate management of adverse effects or clinical emergencies.
- Ensure strict compliance with ozone safety protocols, oxygen/ozone cylinder handling and related operational safety procedures.
- Maintain and continuously improve ozone therapy SOPs, treatment protocols and clinical safety standards.
- Keep abreast of developments in ozone therapy and integrative clinical practices and contribute to the evaluation of new therapeutic protocols.
Departmental Operations, Guest Experience & Interdepartmental Coordination
- Provide overall clinical and operational oversight for naturopathy and ozone therapy services.
- Supervise daily guest consultation and treatment operations.
- Coordinate clinical activities between consultation areas and treatment areas to ensure smooth guest flow.
- Ensure availability and appropriate utilization of clinical equipment, consumables and treatment supplies.
- Monitor inventory requirements and coordinate procurement of necessary clinical supplies.
- Ensure safe storage, handling and monitoring of oxygen/ozone cylinders and other relevant clinical materials.
- Maintain operational and clinical records required for effective departmental functioning.
- Supervise, guide and evaluate Junior Medical Officers, nursing staff, therapy healers and other clinical team members.
- Participate in guest lectures and department training programs.
- Identify training requirements and organize periodic CME (Continuing Medical Education), clinical training and hands-on sessions for Junior Medical Officers, nurses and therapy staff.
- Mentor junior medical staff and ensure consistent adherence to clinical protocols and standards.
- Monitor guest experience and clinical satisfaction throughout the wellness program.
- Review guest feedback and address clinical concerns, grievances and complex guest queries appropriately.
- Coordinate closely with Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, Yoga, Healing Hub, F&B/Dietary and other relevant departments for integrated guest care.
- Work closely with the Clinical Head on improving clinical services and guest outcomes.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at expanding and improving naturopathy and ozone therapy services.
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation of consultations, diagnoses/clinical assessments, prescriptions, treatment plans and guest progress.
- Maintain daily records with critical clinical points appropriately highlighted.
- Ensure confidentiality and appropriate handling of guest medical information.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable internal clinical policies, SOPs, safety standards and professional requirements.
- Report significant clinical incidents, adverse events and deviations from protocols to the appropriate authority immediately.
- Attend assigned clinical duties as per the approved duty schedule.
- This position requires performing duties in different shifts, including night shifts according to the monthly department roster.
- Contribute blogs and write-ups to the organization's website and promotional materials.
- Support emergency/crisis management within the scope of professional competence.
- Participate in departmental meetings, clinical reviews and management initiatives.
- Maintain professional conduct, excellent communication and a high standard of guest care.
- Perform any other clinical or administrative responsibilities assigned by Clinical Head.
DESIRED PROFILE:
- B.N.Y.S. (Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences) from a recognized university/institution.
- MD or equivalent qualification may be considered an advantage.
- Advanced Certification in Ozone Therapy from a recognized training institution/body such as OFI – Mumbai, NIN – Pune, or equivalent
- 10–20 years of relevant experience in naturopathy hospitals, wellness centres, integrative healthcare facilities or similar clinical environments.
- Proven experience in naturopathic consultation, treatment planning and clinical management.
- Demonstrated experience in ozone therapy and its clinical applications.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic skills with a holistic approach.
- In-depth knowledge of naturopathy treatments, indications, contraindications and therapeutic effects.
- Strong knowledge of ozone therapy safety standards, therapeutic dosage, treatment combinations and administration protocols.
- Ability to manage adverse effects and clinical emergencies appropriately.
- Strong knowledge of diet, nutrition and lifestyle management.
- Strong clinical documentation and record-management skills.
- Ability to develop, implement and monitor SOPs and quality standards.
- Strong leadership, mentoring and team-management skills.
