Role Description The Senior Purchaser role at CANDICO LIMITED is a full-time, on-site position based in Nagpur. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, including identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and securing raw materials, packaging, and services required for food production. The Senior Purchaser will monitor inventory levels, analyze purchase data, and collaborate with production, quality, and finance teams to maintain cost efficiency and ensure timely availability of materials. Day-to-day tasks include vendor evaluation, order placement, tracking deliveries, resolving supply issues, and ensuring compliance with company policies and food industry standards. The role also involves continuous improvement of purchasing processes, risk management in the supply chain, and contributing to strategic sourcing initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management within manufacturing or food production environments.
- Proficiency in vendor sourcing, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiation, with a focus on cost optimization and reliability.
- Ability to analyze purchasing data, manage inventory levels, and use ERP or procurement software effectively.
- Knowledge of food industry standards, quality requirements, and relevant regulatory and safety guidelines.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Solid organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are an advantage.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, resilience under time-sensitive conditions, and a commitment to ethical and inclusive business practices.
