Role Overview:
We are looking for an agile, hands-on Senior Executive - Purchase (Poultry feed ingredients) to manage day-to-day sourcing operations for our poultry feed milling unit. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune. You will be solely responsible for tracking commodity market trends, forecasting price shifts, and executing the physical purchase of bulk raw materials (Maize, Soymeal, DORB) and feed additives (Vitamins, Amino Acids, Toxins Binders). This is an active, operational role requiring daily coordination with market brokers, suppliers, and our plant team.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Daily Sourcing & Market Tracking: Monitor daily spot prices across major agricultural trading hubs (mandis) and processing plants. Track crop arrivals, weather data, and market sentiment to timing purchases optimally.
- Direct Execution & Negotiation: Personally negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with grain merchants, solvent extraction plants, and additive distributors.
- Additive Procurement: Work closely with the plant nutritionist to source exact technical specifications of enzymes, amino acids, and supplements at the lowest landed cost.
- Quality & Dispatch Coordination: Coordinate with transport vendors to ensure timely arrival of raw materials at the mill. Partner with the plant QC lab to ensure incoming loads match specified moisture, fiber, and mycotoxin parameters before unloading.
- Inventory Control: Monitor plant inventory levels closely to prevent both overstocking (saving working capital) and stockouts (preventing production halts).
🛠️ Candidate Requirements
- Experience: 5 to 10 years of direct, hands-on experience purchasing agri-commodities or ingredients for animal feed, flour mills, or starch industries.
- Key Skills: Sharp negotiation skills, a robust existing network of grain brokers/suppliers, and a strong understanding of how global commodity trends affect local spot prices.
- Education: Graduate in any field with prior experience in same field
