Only candidates with prior experience in writing Performance Ad Video Scripts for D2C brands should apply. Candidates without relevant experience will not be considered.
About DIRTS
DIRTS is a D2C health and wellness brand based in Noida. We design and sell products that help people
deal with their everyday pain problems, selling directly to customers through our own website and through
marketplaces.
Paid social is our main growth channel, so video ads are at the centre of how the business runs. Creative
is handled in-house — research, scripting, editing and media buying all sit within one small team — and
we test new ads every week. Winners get scaled, the rest get cut, and what we learn goes into the next
batch. With no agencies or layers in between, the person writing the scripts sees exactly how their work
performs and has a direct hand in how the brand grows.
The Role
- This is not a short-video-script job. You will write across formats — longer-form ads, short skits, emotional storytelling pieces, and whatever else the idea calls for. The format is open; the process is not. Research comes first, always.
- You understand the customer, their problem and the language they use before a single line is written, and then you design the script around that. Every script, whatever its length or style, has one job: to make someone stop, pay attention and buy.
- You will write in Hindi and English, hand scripts to our editors ready for production, and see how each one performs so the next batch is better.
What You Will Do
• Research before writing — customer reviews, conversations, forums, competitor ads and comment
sections — so that every script is grounded in how real customers talk about their problem.
• Design scripts across formats: long-form explainers, short skits, emotional narratives, testimonial-style
pieces and direct-response cuts, each with hook variations.
• Maintain a library of customer language, angles, objections and story ideas for the team to draw from.
• Study high-performing D2C ads across formats and break down what makes them work.
• Work closely with the video editors so scripts are written for production.
• Review performance with the founder and feed learnings back into new scripts.
Must-Haves
• Prior experience writing performance ad scripts for a D2C or e-commerce brand. You should be able to
show what you wrote and what happened when it ran.
• Strong research ability. Research should be your first step, not an afterthought, and you should have
your own method for finding customer language and new angles.
• Range as a writer — able to move between a tight 20-second cut, a two-minute story and a comedic skit
without the voice falling apart.
• Fluent written Hindi and English. Hinglish that sounds spoken, not translated.
• Solid grasp of direct-response fundamentals — hook-first structure, awareness levels, why the opening
seconds decide the ad.
• Comfortable with constant testing, where most scripts will not win.
Good to Have
• Health, wellness or personal-care brand experience.
• Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager and creative performance metrics.
• Experience briefing editors or UGC creators.
Who This Role Is Not For
• Content writers. If your experience is blogs, articles, website copy or social media captions, this is a
different job. We are not hiring for words on a page; we are hiring for videos that sell.
• Writers who start from templates. If your process is to pick a hook formula and fill in the product, you will
struggle here. Every script starts with research into the customer, and the format is chosen after that, not
before.
• Brand or agency creatives who write and move on. Here you will see the numbers on every script you
write, and you are expected to want that. If tracking performance and rewriting based on it feels like
someone else's job, this is not the right role.
• Anyone uncomfortable with rejection by data. Most scripts will not win. That is how testing works, and it is not a judgement on you — but you need to be able to treat it that way.
