Role Description The Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South, responsible for driving sales growth for Illume Gene India LLP’s portfolio of life science products and solutions. This role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing existing customer relationships, and achieving sales targets across biotechnology, molecular biology, and diagnostics segments. The Sales Manager will conduct regular client meetings and product demonstrations, prepare proposals and quotations, and coordinate closely with technical and operations teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Day-to-day tasks include market research, territory planning, maintaining accurate sales records and forecasts, and participating in industry events to build brand presence. The role also requires providing feedback on customer needs and market trends to support product positioning and strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong sales and business development skills, including lead generation, negotiation, key account management, and closing deals.
- Candidates should possess customer relationship and communication skills, such as stakeholder management, presentation abilities, and professional written and verbal communication.
- Candidates should possess market and product knowledge skills, including familiarity with life science products, molecular biology workflows, and basic laboratory techniques.
- Candidates should possess organizational and analytical skills, such as territory planning, data-driven decision-making, and use of CRM or sales reporting tools.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field; an MBA or sales specialization is an advantage.
- Beneficial experience includes prior sales or account management in life science, diagnostics, or laboratory supplies, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Additional beneficial skills include the ability to work independently, willingness to travel within the region, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
