Role Description The Relationship Manager – Health Insurance will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with individual and corporate customers in Chennai, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention. This full-time, on-site role includes understanding customer health insurance needs, recommending suitable products, and communicating policy features, benefits, and processes clearly and accurately. The Relationship Manager will coordinate with internal teams for smooth onboarding, claims support, and policy servicing, while resolving customer queries and issues in a timely and professional manner. The role also involves identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities, tracking portfolio performance, and sharing customer feedback to support product and process improvements. Consistent follow-up, accurate documentation, and adherence to regulatory and company compliance standards are essential aspects of day-to-day work.
Qualifications
- Strong customer relationship management and client servicing abilities, with a focus on trust-building and long-term engagement.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, including clear spoken and written English and the ability to explain complex information simply.
- Sales and negotiation capabilities, with experience in meeting targets, managing pipelines, and identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
- Health insurance or financial services domain knowledge, including understanding of products, underwriting basics, and claims processes.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills for handling customer issues, interpreting data, and making informed recommendations.
- Comfort with digital tools, CRM systems, and standard office software for documentation, reporting, and customer interactions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment, with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field; prior experience in health insurance, banking, or financial services relationship management is preferred.
