Role Description The Registrar – OBG / Pediatric role is a full-time, on-site position based at Motherhood in Bengaluru. The registrar will support consultants in obstetrics, gynecology, and pediatrics by assessing patients, documenting clinical findings, and assisting with management plans in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings. Daily responsibilities include conducting rounds, monitoring maternal and pediatric patients, ordering and reviewing investigations, and ensuring accurate, timely medical records. The role also involves assisting in procedures and surgeries under supervision, coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, and providing clear communication and counseling to patients and families. The registrar is expected to adhere to hospital protocols, contribute to quality and safety initiatives, and participate in academic activities such as case discussions and clinical teaching where required.
Qualifications
- Clinical expertise in Medicine with a focus on Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatrics.
- Specialized skills or training in Neonatology, including care of newborns and high-risk infants.
- Ability to work effectively with Physicians and multidisciplinary teams, maintaining professional communication and collaboration.
- Foundational exposure to Surgery in OBG and Pediatric settings, including assisting in procedures under supervision.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) with relevant postgraduate qualification or diploma in OBG, Pediatrics, or related specialty as per regulatory requirements.
- Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council and compliance with local clinical practice regulations.
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail in documentation, and commitment to evidence-based care and patient safety.
- Ability to work in shifts, manage high-acuity situations calmly, and maintain a patient-centered, non-discriminatory approach.
