Role Description The Quality Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad Area. This role is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and control across incoming materials, in-process production, and final components to ensure they meet internal and customer specifications. Day-to-day tasks include developing and maintaining quality standards and procedures, conducting inspections and audits, analyzing defects and root causes, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. The Quality Manager collaborates closely with operations, engineering, and supplier management teams to maintain consistent quality, improve processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves preparing quality reports, supporting customer quality requirements, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and certifications.
Qualifications
- Strong background in quality management, including setting quality standards, conducting inspections, and managing quality documentation and records.
- Experience with quality tools and methodologies such as root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), statistical process control (SPC), and continuous improvement (e.g., ISO, Lean, Six Sigma).
- Knowledge of precision manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications for mechanical components.
- Ability to work closely with suppliers for quality audits, supplier development, and resolution of nonconformities.
- Proficiency in using measurement instruments and inspection equipment relevant to precision parts (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM is a plus).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and a focus on reliability and consistency.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and interact with customers on quality-related topics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field; relevant certifications in quality or process improvement are an advantage.
- Prior experience as a Quality Manager or in a similar quality-focused role within manufacturing, precision engineering, or automotive/industrial sectors.
