About CREX
CREX is one of Asia's leading cricket platforms, serving millions of cricket fans every day with live scores, match insights, news, videos, discussions, and other cricket experiences.
Our platform operates at massive scale, especially during major cricket tournaments, where reliability, performance, and product quality are critical.
We are looking for a QA Engineer who is passionate about building high-quality products and wants to work on systems used by millions of users.
What you'll do
- Own the quality of CREX products across Android, iOS, Web, APIs, and backend services.
- Understand product requirements, user journeys, and business logic and identify potential issues before development reaches production.
- Create and execute test plans, test cases, regression suites, and exploratory testing.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, compatibility, and end-to-end testing.
- Test REST APIs and backend services using tools such as Postman or similar.
- Validate live-match experiences including real-time scores, commentary, notifications, match data, and discussions.
- Identify edge cases and failure scenarios, particularly around high-traffic live matches.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and SRE teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Investigate production issues, reproduce bugs, identify root causes, and ensure proper fixes.
- Maintain and continuously improve the QA process, test coverage, and regression suites.
- Build and maintain automation frameworks for critical product flows and APIs.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and ensure automated tests are integrated into the development lifecycle.
- Monitor releases and proactively identify quality risks before and after deployment.
- Help establish quality standards and best practices across engineering teams.
What we're looking for
- 2–5 years of experience in software testing / QA engineering.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC.
- Hands-on experience with API testing, preferably using Postman or similar tools.
- Experience testing mobile applications, preferably Android and/or iOS.
- Good understanding of databases and ability to write basic SQL queries.
- Experience with test automation using tools/frameworks such as Appium, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent.
- Good understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, JSON, and client-server architecture.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand complex product flows and identify edge cases.
- Good communication skills and ability to work closely with developers and product managers.
- Strong attention to detail and a user-first mindset.
Good to have
- Experience working on high-scale consumer applications.
- Experience with performance, load, or stress testing.
- Experience with mobile automation.
- Familiarity with Firebase, GCP, Redis, Pub/Sub, or other distributed systems.
- Experience working with real-time or event-driven systems.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and cloud-based testing infrastructure.
- Experience in a sports, media, streaming, or content platform.
- Cricket knowledge or familiarity with cricket applications is a plus.
What success looks like
- Fewer production bugs and regressions.
- Strong automated test coverage for critical user journeys.
- Faster and more reliable release cycles.
- Critical issues are identified before they reach users.
- Excellent quality and reliability during high-traffic cricket events.
- QA becomes an active part of product development, not just a final verification step.
Why CREX
- Work on a product used by millions of cricket fans.
- Solve interesting quality and scalability challenges during massive live events.
- Work closely with engineering, product, design, and SRE teams.
- Opportunity to build and improve QA automation and engineering practices from the ground up.
- Be part of a fast-moving product and engineering organization where quality directly impacts millions of users.
