Role Description The Purchase Trainee role is a full-time, on-site position based in Coimbatore. The role involves supporting the purchase team in managing day-to-day procurement activities, including preparing and processing purchase orders, maintaining vendor records, and assisting in obtaining quotations and price comparisons. The Purchase Trainee will track order status, follow up with suppliers for timely delivery, and help ensure materials and services are procured according to company standards and project requirements. The role also includes maintaining purchase documentation, assisting with basic data analysis on costs and inventory, and coordinating with internal departments such as stores, accounts, and operations.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in purchasing processes and purchasing activities, with the ability to understand procurement workflows and documentation.
- Skills in purchase management and handling purchase orders, including vendor coordination and basic negotiation support.
- Analytical skills to review quotations, compare prices, track costs, and support data-based purchasing decisions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with suppliers and internal teams, with attention to detail in documentation.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word) and willingness to learn ERP or procurement software.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Coimbatore, manage time effectively, and adapt to a fast-paced industrial environment.
