Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Production Manager role located in Tiruppur. The Production Manager oversees end-to-end garment production, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring daily operations to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. Responsibilities include coordinating with design, merchandising, procurement, and quality teams; managing factory floor activities; and ensuring that knitting, weaving, cutting, sewing, and finishing processes run efficiently. The role involves tracking production metrics, resolving bottlenecks, optimizing resource utilization, and enforcing safety and compliance standards. The Production Manager also leads and develops production staff, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and maintains clear communication with management on order status and operational performance.
Qualifications
- Experience in production planning and control, including scheduling, capacity management, and workflow optimization in garment manufacturing.
- Strong skills in factory floor management, team leadership, and staff supervision, with the ability to motivate diverse production teams.
- Knowledge of knitted and woven garment manufacturing processes, including cutting, sewing, finishing, and packing, as well as basic machinery operations.
- Competence in quality assurance and quality control, with familiarity in inspection standards, defect analysis, and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to manage vendor and supplier coordination, inventory oversight, and material utilization to minimize waste and delays.
- Proficiency with production tracking tools, spreadsheets, and basic ERP or manufacturing systems for monitoring output and reporting.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English; local language proficiency is an advantage for on-site coordination.
- Relevant experience in apparel/garment manufacturing, preferably in export-oriented units; prior experience in Tiruppur-based factories is a plus.
- Diploma or degree in Textile Technology, Garment Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
