Sow & Reap Chara is seeking an experienced Plant Head – Operations to lead the day-to-day operations of its biomass processing and biochar manufacturing facility in Mattampalli, Telangana. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring efficient production, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality, and supporting the company's sustainability and carbon removal initiatives.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage plant operations, optimize resources, lead cross-functional teams, and continuously improve production processes while ensuring compliance with statutory and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee end-to-end plant operations to achieve production, quality, cost, and efficiency targets.
- Plan, coordinate, and optimize production schedules to maximize plant utilization.
- Ensure adherence to operational health, safety, environmental, and statutory compliance standards.
- Monitor plant performance through operational KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze production and operational data to identify trends, improve efficiency, and reduce downtime.
- Manage manpower planning, resource allocation, and contractor activities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop plant teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and safety.
- Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize breakdowns.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, supply chain teams, farming partners, and project stakeholders to align plant operations with business objectives.
- Support biochar production, biomass processing, carbon credit generation, and sustainability initiatives.
- Drive cost optimization, waste reduction, and process standardization across plant operations.
- Prepare operational reports, production metrics, and management dashboards.
Qualifications:
- 8–15 years of experience in plant, manufacturing, biomass, renewable energy, agriculture processing, cement, chemical, or process industries.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end plant operations with responsibility for production, maintenance, quality, and safety.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to operational improvements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Working knowledge of production planning, inventory management, maintenance planning, and operational reporting.
- Familiarity with ISO standards, EHS practices, and statutory compliance is preferred.
- Experience in biomass, biochar, carbon markets, sustainability, or renewable energy will be an added advantage.
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering, Operations Management, Agriculture Engineering, or a related discipline.
