Role Description The Physical Design Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South, responsible for leading end-to-end physical design implementation for complex silicon and SoC projects. Day-to-day activities include overseeing floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and optimization to meet performance, power, and area targets. The role involves coordinating timing closure, signal integrity analysis, and physical verification, while working closely with front-end design, verification, and product engineering teams. The Physical Design Lead will mentor team members, review design quality, manage project schedules, and collaborate with stakeholders to align implementation with product and customer requirements. This position requires proactive problem-solving, ownership of design deliverables, and adherence to industry best practices and internal quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in physical design flows, including floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and timing closure.
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard EDA tools for physical implementation, optimization, and sign-off (e.g., for STA, power, and signal integrity analysis).
- Solid understanding of digital design fundamentals, SoC architecture, and constraints related to performance, power, and area.
- Experience with physical verification processes such as DRC, LVS, and EM/IR analysis, and familiarity with advanced process nodes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, manage schedules, and coordinate cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to present technical decisions to stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Background in silicon engineering or product engineering domains is highly desirable; experience in AI or data-centric chip designs is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru South and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
