Role Description The Vice President of Projects is a full-time, remote position responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects across all service areas. This role leads project teams, sets priorities, and ensures that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing project portfolios, coordinating with clients and internal stakeholders, developing and refining project methodologies, and resolving escalated issues. The Vice President of Projects will also monitor performance metrics, implement process improvements, and support business development by contributing to proposals and scopes of work. Collaboration with leadership on strategic planning and resource allocation is a central part of this role.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading complex projects or programs, ideally in urban forestry, environmental services, land use planning, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project portfolios, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and resource allocation.
- Strong skills in stakeholder communication, client relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience directing remote teams, establishing workflows, and using project management or collaboration tools.
- Background in forestry, environmental science, urban planning, wildlife management, or a comparable discipline; advanced degree or relevant certifications are beneficial.
- Strategic thinking capabilities with a track record of improving processes, scaling services, and supporting organizational growth.
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements related to tree ordinances, development planning, and environmental compliance is an advantage.
- Experience with expert witness work, technical reporting, or presenting findings in formal settings is a plus.
