Job Title: Ontologist – FIBO & BIAN
We are looking for an experienced Ontologist with expertise in Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) and Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN). The role focuses on designing enterprise knowledge models, developing OWL-based banking ontologies, enabling semantic interoperability, and supporting enterprise knowledge graph initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain FIBO-aligned enterprise ontologies and semantic models using RDF, RDFS, and OWL.
- Model BIAN service domains and create reusable ontology patterns, taxonomies, and vocabularies.
- Develop FIBO–BIAN mappings to enable semantic interoperability across banking applications.
- Define ontology governance, validation rules, and semantic best practices.
- Develop and optimize SPARQL queries for knowledge graphs and support semantic analytics.
- Provide technical guidance on semantic technologies and knowledge graph implementations.
Required Skills
- RDF, RDFS, OWL, SPARQL
- Ontology design, semantic reasoning, knowledge graphs, SHACL
- FIBO, BIAN, banking domain modeling
- Graph technologies: GraphDB, Stardog, Apache Jena, RDF4J, TopBraid, Neo4j
- Python for ontology automation and data processing
Qualifications
- 8–12 years of experience
- Strong Banking & Financial Services domain expertise
- Experience in ontology governance and lifecycle management
- Hands-on FIBO and/or BIAN implementation preferred
- Location: Bangalore / Chennai
