Role Description
The Occupational Therapist will provide comprehensive assessment and therapy to individuals (both paediatric & adult) with physical, cognitive, developmental, or psychosocial challenges, focusing on improving independence in daily activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, implementing interventions, and documenting progress in line with clinical and regulatory standards. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, educating clients and families on home programs and adaptive strategies, and contributing to continuous improvement of rehabilitation services. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Thiruvananthapuram, requiring active engagement with clients in clinic and rehabilitation settings.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, with the ability to design and implement personalized treatment plans.
- Knowledge of Medicine principles relevant to rehabilitation, including understanding of diagnoses, contraindications, and interdisciplinary care.
- Effective Communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare teams, including clear documentation and client education.
- Experience or interest in Pediatrics, with the ability to adapt interventions for children and adolescents when required.
- Recognized degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution and valid professional registration or eligibility as per local regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and demonstrate cultural sensitivity with diverse client populations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and adherence to ethical and professional standards.
- Prior clinical experience in rehabilitation settings is preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training are also encouraged to apply.
