About the Role
F5 Global Talent is looking for an experienced New York Building Code & Plan Review Specialist to review construction plans returned by U.S. municipalities, resolve code-compliance comments, revise drawings, and prepare permit-resubmission packages.
This is a specialized position requiring direct experience with New York State building codes and U.S. municipal permit reviews. General drafting experience alone is not sufficient.
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and municipal correction reports
- Interpret and resolve building-code and plan-review comments
- Apply New York State codes and local jurisdiction requirements
- Revise architectural and structural drawings
- Prepare complete permit-resubmission packages
- Coordinate revisions across multiple disciplines
- Work with internal design teams to resolve code-related issues
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with New York State building codes
- Experience responding to U.S. municipal plan-review comments
- Experience with permit submissions and resubmissions
- Strong structural drafting and construction-documentation background
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Ability to work independently and accurately
- Strong written and verbal English
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with Spring Valley, Rockland County, or similar New York jurisdictions
- Experience with local building-department procedures
- Ability to understand the intent behind municipal comments, not simply make drafting changes
Important
