About the Role
VicharHub is looking for a Mental Health Ambassador to join our growing mental health and wellness team. This is an entry-level opportunity for a Psychology graduate or final-year Psychology student who is passionate about mental health, enjoys interacting with people, and wants hands-on exposure to the operations, outreach, and community side of a mental health organisation.
As a Mental Health Ambassador, you will be one of the first points of contact for clients and community members. You will gain practical experience across client coordination, front-desk operations, initial client conversations, workshops, events, community engagement, and mental health awareness initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Client Support & Front Desk
- Welcome and assist clients visiting the VicharHub/Echoes centre.
- Manage basic front-desk and administrative responsibilities.
- Respond to client enquiries through calls, messages, WhatsApp, and other communication channels.
- Assist clients with appointment scheduling and coordination.
- Maintain basic client records and ensure smooth communication between clients and the internal team.
- Help create a warm, respectful, and non-judgmental experience for clients.
Initial Client Conversations
- Conduct structured initial conversations/check-ins with clients to understand their general concerns, expectations, and goals.
- Gather relevant information and communicate it appropriately to the clinical team for further consideration.
- Assist with the initial coordination and matching process between clients and appropriate mental health professionals.
- Follow VicharHub's confidentiality, communication, and professional ethics guidelines.
This role does not involve providing psychotherapy, diagnosis, clinical assessments, or independent clinical intervention.
Workshops & Events
- Assist in planning and coordinating mental health workshops, awareness sessions, and community events.
- Support psychologists and senior team members during workshops.
- With appropriate training and supervision, participate in or conduct psychoeducation and mental health awareness activities.
- Engage with participants before, during, and after events.
- Assist with event registrations, coordination, feedback collection, and follow-ups.
Marketing & Community Outreach
- Support VicharHub's social media and marketing initiatives.
- Assist with content ideas, mental health awareness campaigns, and community engagement.
- Participate in outreach initiatives with colleges, schools, corporates, cafés, and other community spaces.
- Help identify and build relationships with potential community and outreach partners.
- Support promotional activities for workshops, events, and VicharHub programs.
Team & Centre Operations
- Work closely with psychologists, counsellors, outreach teams, and the operations team.
- Assist with day-to-day centre coordination.
- Support the team in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Take initiative in identifying ways to improve the client and community experience.
Who We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or final-year student in Psychology / Applied Psychology / Counselling Psychology or a related field.
- Freshers and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable speaking with clients and interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Warm, empathetic, approachable, and non-judgmental attitude.
- Interest in mental health, community work, outreach, and awareness.
- Willingness to learn about the practical and operational side of mental health services.
- Comfortable assisting with workshops, events, and public-facing activities.
- Basic understanding of social media and digital communication is an advantage.
- Prior internship, volunteering, event, outreach, or psychology-related experience is a plus but not mandatory.
