Job Overview
We are looking for a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer – LV/MV Switchgear with 2–6 years of experience in the design and development of LV/MV Switchgear, Switchboards, Power Distribution Centers (PDCs), Power Equipment Centers (PECs), Modular E-Houses, and industrial electrical systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 2–6 years of relevant experience in LV/MV Switchgear Design.
- Hands-on experience with switchgear, switchboards, busbars, circuit breakers, protective relays, and LV/MV panels.
- Experience in reviewing vendor drawings, technical documents, and engineering specifications.
- Practical experience in the design of LV/MV/HV switchgear and switchboards.
- Proficiency in preparing detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience with LV/MV distribution panels, hybrid generator systems, recloser panels, transformers, electrical enclosures, and busbar systems.
- Experience with Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, Eaton, or equivalent products is preferred.
- Good understanding of North American and Canadian standards, including UL, NEMA, and NEC.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop LV/MV switchgear, switchboards, distribution panels, enclosures, and related electrical equipment for customer projects.
- Create, review, and update engineering drawings, 3D models, layouts, and technical specifications using CAD tools.
- Prepare and maintain BOMs, technical documentation, design reports, test procedures, and manufacturing documents.
- Ensure designs comply with company standards, customer specifications, applicable regulations, and UL/NEMA/NEC requirements.
- Coordinate with Team Leads and Project Managers to manage project schedules, priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time project delivery.
- Support technical discussions with customers, vendors, and internal teams as required.
Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of LV/MV switchgear design and manufacturing.
- Understanding of North American electrical equipment design practices and standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Good English communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience supporting North American customers or manufacturing operations is an added advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a project-driven and deadline-oriented environment.
