Founded in 2015 by visionary social entrepreneur Shri. Shantilal Muttha, Shantilal Muttha Foundation (SMF) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring that every child receives an education that nurtures them into compassionate, responsible citizens. SMF works to transform school education through systemic interventions that align with national and state educational priorities. By engaging proactively and collaboratively with education systems and key stakeholders, SMF seeks to foster a values-based, equitable, and high-quality learning ecosystem.
SMF implements the Mulyavardhan Programme, a large-scale value education initiative focused on developing social, emotional, ethical, and constitutional values among students through teacher capacity building, classroom-based interventions, school engagement, and system strengthening. The programme is implemented in partnership with government education departments across Maharashtra.
Position Purpose
This role will be responsible for designing, facilitating, and strengthening high-quality capacity building initiatives for teachers, school leaders, and other education stakeholders. The role involves developing training content, conducting engaging workshops, providing post-training support, documenting best practices, and collaborating with programme, curriculum, and monitoring teams to enhance implementation quality and learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Capacity Building & Training
- Design and facilitate online and offline training programmes for teachers, school leaders, and other education stakeholders.
- Deliver interactive, participatory, and activity-based training sessions.
- Support the Head of Department and Curriculum Team in developing training strategies and annual capacity building plans.
- Ensure effective implementation of training programmes while maintaining quality standards.
2. Content Development
- Develop and review training modules, facilitator guides, learning resources, presentations, and case studies.
- Contribute to designing innovative learning methodologies aligned with programme objectives.
- Support testing and continuous improvement of training materials based on participant feedback.
3. Training Need Assessment
- Identify region-specific learning and capacity building needs through field interactions and stakeholder consultations.
- Analyse training requirements and recommend interventions in consultation with the Head of Department.
- Support training impact assessment and continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Team Coordination and Operational Support
- Coordinate with Programme Managers, Master Trainers, district teams, consultants, and implementation partners.
- Facilitate regular review and planning meetings.
- Support problem-solving and decision-making related to programme implementation.
- Ensure effective communication and follow-up across multiple stakeholders.
- Provide operational support for programme expansion and special initiatives.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Curriculum, Programme, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Partnerships teams.
- Support qualitative data collection and evidence generation for programme improvement.
- Contribute to organisational learning and knowledge management initiatives.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of trainings, field visits, mentoring support, and participant feedback.
- Prepare training reports, quarterly updates, annual reports, and other programme documentation.
- Document best practices, success stories, and case studies from the field. timely availability of resources required for programme implementation
Qualifications
Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Social Work, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in the education or development sector.
- Proven experience in teacher training, capacity building, and facilitation of participatory workshops.
- Experience in developing training modules, educational content, and facilitator resources.
- Experience in conducting Training Need Assessments (TNA).
- Experience in classroom observation, mentoring, and post-training support will be preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, including government officials, school leaders, and teachers.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of the National Education Policy (NEP), child psychology, pedagogy, and education systems will be an added advantage
