About the Role
We are looking for a highly driven, target-oriented and commercially strong Sales Manager to lead our B2C, Retail and Inside Sales business in the Training & Upskilling industry.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for revenue generation, sales team management, lead-to-enrollment conversion, retail/direct sales, sales funnel optimization, forecasting and overall business growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can not only manage a sales team but also actively drive closures, improve conversion ratios, build sales processes and create a high-performance sales culture.
⭐ Preferred Industry Background
Candidates with experience in Upskilling / EdTech / Professional Training / Online Learning / Certification / Career Education / Higher Education / Vocational Training will be strongly preferred.
Experience with leading Upskilling/EdTech companies is an added advantage, particularly candidates who have worked with organizations selling programs in areas such as:

Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Revenue Ownership
- Own and deliver monthly, quarterly and annual B2C sales and revenue targets.
- Drive enrollments, collections and revenue through Inside Sales and Retail/Direct Sales channels.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to consistently achieve and exceed targets.
- Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales performance and take corrective actions.
- Drive high-value closures and support the team in converting critical/high-intent prospects.
2. B2C & Inside Sales Management
- Lead and manage the B2C Inside Sales team responsible for learner acquisition and enrollment.
- Manage the complete sales funnel—from lead allocation and qualification to counselling, follow-up, closure and payment.
- Improve lead-to-call, call-to-connect, counselling-to-enrollment and lead-to-revenue conversion ratios.
- Establish strong follow-up mechanisms and ensure no qualified lead is left unattended.
- Drive consultative and need-based selling rather than transactional selling.
3. Retail / Direct Sales
- Develop and manage retail/direct learner acquisition channels.
- Identify opportunities for offline and on-ground sales, partnerships, events, seminars, workshops and local business development.
- Build strategies to increase walk-ins, direct enquiries, referrals and retail enrollments.
- Work closely with marketing and operations teams to maximize lead generation and conversion from retail initiatives.
4. Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, mentor and motivate Sales Executives, Counsellors, Team Leaders and other sales resources.
- Set individual and team-wise targets and monitor achievement.
- Conduct daily huddles, pipeline reviews, performance reviews and sales coaching sessions.
- Identify performance gaps and implement corrective action plans.
- Conduct role plays, mock calls and objection-handling sessions.
- Build a high-performance, accountable and target-driven sales culture.
5. CRM, MIS & Sales Analytics
- Ensure 100% CRM discipline and accurate recording of lead/customer interactions.
- Monitor the complete sales pipeline and ageing of leads.
- Prepare and review Daily / Weekly / Monthly Sales MIS and Revenue Reports.
- Track KPIs including:
- Leads
- Connects
- Qualified Leads
- Counselling
- Follow-ups
- Conversion %
- Enrollments
- Revenue
- Collections
- Average Ticket Size
- Revenue per Counsellor
- Lead-to-Enrollment Ratio
- Provide accurate sales forecasts to senior management.
6. Process & Conversion Optimization
- Identify bottlenecks across the sales funnel and implement improvements.
- Develop effective sales scripts, pitches, objection-handling frameworks and follow-up strategies.
- Work with Marketing to improve lead quality, campaign performance and CAC-to-revenue efficiency.
- Work with Academic/Product/Operations teams to improve the learner enrollment journey.
- Continuously monitor competitor offerings, pricing, programs and sales practices.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who is:
- A strong people manager and sales leader.
- Highly target-oriented with a proven record of achieving revenue numbers.
- Strong in B2C / Inside Sales / Direct Sales / Retail Sales.
- Experienced in selling high-ticket education, training, certification or upskilling programs.
- Excellent at consultative selling, negotiation, objection handling and closing.
- Data-driven and comfortable working with CRM and sales dashboards.
- Strong in coaching and developing sales teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth and target-driven environment.
- Strong in communication, presentation and stakeholder management.
- Hands-on, proactive and capable of taking ownership of business outcomes.
Must-Have Experience
Mandatory / Strong Preference:
- 5+ years of overall Sales experience.
- 2–3+ years of experience in B2C / Inside Sales team management.
- Experience in EdTech / Upskilling / Training / Professional Education / Certification / Higher Education preferred.
- Proven experience in managing revenue targets and sales teams.
- Experience working with CRM, dialers and sales MIS.
- Strong understanding of the complete B2C sales funnel.
⭐ Added Advantage
Candidates with prior experience in leading Upskilling / EdTech organizations or competing training and certification companies will have an advantage.
Relevant exposure to companies operating in online learning, professional upskilling, technology training, bootcamps, certifications or career-focused education will be highly valued.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline required.
- MBA / PGDM in Sales, Marketing or Business Management will be an advantage.
