Job details:
Flychem develops and supplies cosmetic actives, delivery systems and specialty intermediates to formulators worldwide. We manufacture through loan-licensing and toll partners, which makes our process package the product. We are hiring the person who will own it.
Note: Share your CV to careers@flychem.com along with Current CTA, Expected CTC and notice period.
What you will do
- Own catalyst and route selection for priority actives, ascorbyl derivatives, alkylresorcinols, arbutin, retinoids, hyaluronate grades and the ester portfolio.
- Run catalyst and biocatalyst screening through external partners: national laboratories, catalyst houses, enzyme suppliers and CROs. Set the brief, judge the data, choose.
- Take routes from bench through kilo-lab to validated batches at partner sites, and own the impurity map, in-process controls and batch record that travel with them.
- Drive cost per kilogram, assay, isomer profile, colour and residual metal and defend those numbers to technically demanding global buyers.
- Build the process package that makes a Flychem grade hard to substitute.
What you bring
- M.Sc. / M.Tech / Ph.D. in Organic or Process Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
- 8–14 years in specialty chemicals, API, agrochemicals or oleochemicals, with real catalysis exposure, hydrogenation, selective oxidation, esterification, etherification or biocatalysis.
- A process you have personally transferred to a third-party or toll site and made work.
- Fluency in impurity profiling and analytical interpretation: HPLC, GC, NMR, ICP-MS.
- Judgement on when a better catalyst is the answer and when it is an expensive distraction.
Good to have
- Immobilised-enzyme process experience
- DoE and scale-up modelling
- ISO 22716 or cosmetic GMP exposure
- ICH Q3D elemental impurities
- ISO 16128 natural-origin documentation
Why this role
A 540-SKU portfolio, a live application centre, and the authority to decide how these molecules get made — not a brief to execute someone else's route.
