Role Description The Laundry Valet role is a full-time, on-site position based at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore in Bengaluru. The Laundry Valet is responsible for receiving, tagging, and processing guest and staff garments according to hotel standards, including washing, dry cleaning, pressing, folding, and timely delivery. This role involves inspecting items for stains or damage, following care labels and treatment instructions, and coordinating with the laundry team to prioritize and track orders. The Laundry Valet interacts with guests in a courteous, professional manner, clarifying service requests, handling special care items, and ensuring accurate billing and documentation. Day-to-day responsibilities also include maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas, adhering to safety and hygiene protocols, and supporting other housekeeping and laundry operations as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in hotel laundry operations, valet services, or housekeeping in a luxury or upscale hospitality environment.
- Strong attention to detail, including ability to identify fabric types, follow garment care instructions, and perform quality checks on finished items.
- Good communication and guest service skills, with a courteous and professional approach to interacting with guests and colleagues.
- Ability to manage time effectively, handle multiple laundry orders, and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic record-keeping and billing accuracy skills, including handling tags, tickets, and order tracking systems.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift laundry loads, and operate laundry equipment safely.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, in line with hotel operational needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in hospitality or housekeeping is an advantage.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in all laundry and valet activities.
