Role Description The Junior Pastry Chef will support daily pastry and bakery operations at the MITTI Café location in Bengaluru South in a full-time, on-site capacity. Responsibilities include preparing and baking a variety of pastries, breads, and desserts, following recipes and food safety standards, and ensuring consistency in taste, appearance, and quality. The role involves assisting with ingredient preparation, maintaining clean and organized kitchen and bakery areas, and collaborating with the team to meet production schedules and customer orders. The Junior Pastry Chef will help with stock rotation, basic inventory checks, and may participate in training and mentoring team members, including adults with disabilities, in pastry and baking skills. This position contributes directly to MITTI Café’s inclusive workplace culture and high standards of service.
Qualifications
- Strong bakery and baking skills, including preparation of pastries, breads, and desserts.
- Solid food preparation and cooking abilities with a focus on hygiene and safety.
- Foundational culinary skills and interest in developing pastry expertise.
- Ability to follow recipes, work to production timelines, and maintain consistent quality.
- Prior experience in a bakery, café, hotel, or culinary setting is an advantage.
- Commitment to inclusive work environments and willingness to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Basic knowledge of food safety standards; formal certification is a plus.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and peak hours as required by café operations.
