Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Architect with strong skills in 2D architectural design, drafting and documentation. The candidate will work closely with senior architects and the design team to prepare accurate architectural drawings and construction documentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed 2D architectural drawings using AutoCAD.
* Develop plans, elevations, sections, site plans and working drawings.
* Prepare detailed drawings for residential, commercial and other architectural projects.
* Translate design concepts into accurate technical drawings.
* Prepare dimensioning, annotations, layouts and drawing sets.
* Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, electrical, plumbing and other consultants.
* Prepare detailed drawings for doors, windows, stairs, furniture, flooring, ceilings and other architectural elements.
* Revise drawings according to project requirements and senior architect comments.
* Maintain proper drawing standards, layers, line weights, scales and sheet layouts.
* Assist in preparing municipal / approval drawings and documentation.
* Conduct site visits and incorporate site measurements and observations into drawings.
* Maintain organized project files and drawing revisions.
Required Skills
* Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
* Good understanding of architectural planning and construction details.
* Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.
* Knowledge of building materials and construction methods.
* Good understanding of dimensions, proportions and architectural standards.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work within deadlines and coordinate with a team.
Preferred Skills
* Knowledge of SketchUp, Revit or other architectural software.
* Basic knowledge of Photoshop / Illustrator.
* Experience in working drawings and construction documentation.
Qualification
B.Arch / Diploma in Architecture / equivalent architectural qualification.
