Role Description The Junior Accountant role at Elite Bakery Breads is a full-time, on-site position based in Cuttack. The role involves assisting with daily accounting operations, including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. The Junior Accountant will help prepare basic financial reports, reconcile bank and cash accounts, and ensure documentation is accurate and properly filed. The position includes supporting month-end closing activities, responding to internal queries about invoices and payments, and coordinating with other departments to gather financial data. The role also requires adherence to company policies, local accounting standards, and internal controls while meeting deadlines in a busy operational environment.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including journal entries, ledgers, and basic financial reporting.
- Ability to manage accounts payable and receivable, invoice processing, and bank reconciliations with accuracy and timeliness.
- Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), along with basic data entry and record-keeping skills.
- Strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with operations, finance, and management teams.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet regular reporting deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; relevant internships or entry-level experience are an advantage.
- Integrity, reliability, and willingness to learn, with openness to working in an on-site food production and restaurant environment.
