We are seeking an enthusiastic Inside Sales Representative to generate leads, engage prospective customers, schedule meetings, and support business growth. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and a proven ability to achieve sales targets through outbound calling and follow-ups. Business Development
• Proactively identify and contact prospective customers via telephone, email, and digital channels
• Develop a pipeline of new business opportunities and work to convert these into active accounts
• Prepare and present freight quotations tailored to customer requirements
• Follow up on leads generated from marketing activity, referrals, and inbound enquiries
• Research target markets and customer sectors to identify growth opportunities
Account Management
• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts
• Build strong, long-term relationships with key customer contacts
• Conduct regular account reviews to identify additional service opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction
• Address customer queries and concerns promptly and professionally
Quoting & Operations Support
• Prepare accurate and competitive freight quotations across all modes (air, sea, road)
• Liaise with operations, customs, and overseas agents to ensure quotes are commercially viable
• Enter and maintain accurate records within the CRM system
• Work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth handover of new business
Reporting & Targets
• Achieve agreed monthly and quarterly sales targets for revenue and margin
• Maintain accurate pipeline and activity records in the CRM
• Provide regular updates to the Sales Manager on activity, performance, and market intelligence
Skills & Experience
Essential
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a sales or commercial role within freight forwarding or logistics
• Sound knowledge of freight forwarding services including air freight, sea freight, and road transport
• Excellent telephone manner and strong written communication skills
• Ability to build rapport quickly and manage multiple customer relationships
• Commercially aware with a results-driven mindset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
• Experience using a freight-specific CRM or TMS
• Knowledge of customs procedures, Incoterms, and import/export documentation
• Existing network of contacts within the freight or supply chain sector
