Role Description This full-time Interior Engineer role at EPMS is an on-site position based in Chennai. The Interior Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and detailing interior spaces for construction and renovation projects, ensuring functionality, safety, and aesthetics are aligned with client requirements and project standards. Daily tasks include coordinating with architects, structural engineers, and contractors; preparing and reviewing drawings, layouts, and material specifications; and conducting site inspections to monitor progress and quality. The role involves collaborating closely with project managers to meet timelines and budgets, resolving technical issues, and providing regular updates and documentation. The Interior Engineer will also support client presentations, contribute to design improvements, and ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and company procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in interior design and engineering, including space planning, detailing, and material selection.
- Proficiency in technical drawing and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD/BIM software).
- Knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and industry standards relevant to interior works.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and coordinate across disciplines.
- Experience in site supervision, quality checks, and resolving on-site technical issues for interior projects.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Engineering, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Prior experience in interior works within the construction or real estate sector in an on-site capacity is preferred.
- Commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a focus on delivering high-quality project outcomes.
