Role Summary
AISC is hiring a hands-on Creative Media Producer to lead all visual storytelling for the school - photography, video, reels, event coverage, portraits, and campaign assets. This is an individual-contributor-plus-lead role: the person shoots, edits, and finishes work personally, while also directing junior/contract creators and holding the quality bar across the team's output.
This role sits within the Strategic Advancement Team and reports to the Communications & Marketing Manager. It functions as an execution partner to the wider Advancement and Communications function, translating brand strategy into consistent, high-impact content across every platform.
Key Responsibilities
Production
- Shoot photography and video across campus life, events, portraits, and campaigns.
- Edit and deliver finished short films end-to-end - raw footage through cut, grade, sound, and titles.
- Build complete social reels and posts, matched to platform and campaign.
- Maintain a consistent visual standard in line with AISC brand guidelines.
Delivery & Planning
- Own the production calendar - what's due, when, and dependencies.
- Turn a brief into a shoot plan independently.
- Flag deadline risks early, with a proposed fix.
- Manage the media library (with the junior photographer/videographer) so assets are findable, named consistently, and archived properly.
Collaboration
- Work respectfully and professionally with faculty, students, school leaders, and families - with care around consent and student privacy.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Professional photography and video production experience, with a portfolio showing range: film, event coverage, portraiture, short-form social.
- Strong editing skills - Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop, Premiere Pro or Final Cut, plus grading, sound, and basic motion graphics.
- Confident running a shoot solo - camera, lighting, and audio kit.
- Proven track record hitting deadlines across multiple concurrent projects.
- Fluent English; comfortable in a multicultural environment.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience in education, community organizations, or another environment involving children.
- Experience directing or supervising at least one other creative.
- Drone / aerial experience.
Success Indicators (What “Right” Looks Like)
- Spots what needs filming without being told.
- Delivers a finished piece, not a rough cut with a list of caveats.
- Takes creative direction well, and can also push back with a better idea.
- Comfortable being the one who says the work isn't ready yet.
Professional Expectations
- Ethical judgment, discretion, and respect for confidentiality.
- Energy, initiative, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Builds trust across a diverse, international community.
- Professionalism, curiosity, and openness to feedback.
Safeguarding
AISC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This role involves regular contact with students and is subject to background checks, reference checks, and adherence to the school's child protection policy. Safeguarding training will be provided.
Sourcing Notes
- This is a NON-hybrid, fully in-office role based in Chennai - screen only candidates willing to relocate to / already based in Chennai and work on-site full-time.
- Candidates with a strong, varied portfolio (short films, event coverage, portraits, reels) over pure specialists in one format.
- Producer-editors who can run a solo shoot end-to-end, not just crew members who need a director.
- Prior experience with schools, NGOs, or other child-facing environments is a strong plus given safeguarding requirements.
- Mandatory application asks: CV, short covering note, portfolio/showreel link, at least one end-to-end edited short film, and one set of reels.
