About the role
Marketing Strategist
Do you know that marketing to a specific industry is a different job from marketing to everyone? Can you look at a GTM plan from a VP and say “this won’t work, here’s a better one”? Would you rather write the piece that matters than delegate it?
Then, our Marketing Strategist role here at CUBE84 may interest you.
In this gig,
You decide what we say, and what we don’t
You own positioning and messaging for everything we sell into our industry. This isn’t a tagline exercise. You decide what to say, to whom, and why it beats the status quo, whether that’s a competitor or a spreadsheet a team has run on for years. Every email, call script, deck, and post traces back to the story you built.
You run the engine, channel by channel
Email nurture by buyer role, BDR target lists and call scripts (you shape who they call and what they say, you don’t dial), enablement for Salesforce AEs, a recurring webinar program, peer-led roundtables, a leader-hosted podcast, and LinkedIn for both the company page and our leaders. You set the content cadence across all of it. Not every channel deserves equal effort every quarter. You decide where to double down, and you tell us which ones aren’t working.
You’re the call before the big call, not after
You’re senior enough to push back on a GTM idea with a better one. You shape what gets built, launched, and prioritized because you know the market better than the person asking.
You turn a release into a reason to buy
You own GTM for every launch, big or small. You decide which stakeholders need to know, what changes for them, how sales pitches it, which channels carry it, and what success looks like 90 days out.
You make sales sound sharper than they would on their own
You build battlecards, competitive teardowns, and objection-handling material for conversations with executive sponsors, IT, and procurement. You know where we win and where we don’t, and you say the second part out loud.
You get fluent in an industry, fast
You learn how the industry buys: the committees, the budget cycles, the politics. You track competitors and category shifts, and you feed what you learn into positioning, pricing conversations, and product priorities.
You run a team of two like a team of ten
You set direction and standards for your coordinator, who runs the content calendar, Pardot, events, and production. You write the pieces that matter most yourself, using AI to draft and scale, with your judgment on what ships. You keep product, sales, delivery, and content aligned, so strategy ends up as pipeline, not a document in a folder.
What success looks like
First 90 days: A positioning and messaging framework signed off by leadership. A two-quarter channel plan with cadence, owners, and targets. Refreshed BDR scripts and battlecards in use. Your first webinar or roundtable delivered.
End of year one: Every channel on a steady cadence, or cut with a reason. A content calendar the team runs without you chasing it. A monthly report of marketing-sourced and influenced meetings, qualified opportunities, and pipeline, by channel.
It’ll be awesome if you...
Have 8+ years of B2B SaaS or product marketing experience, senior enough to advise VP-level stakeholders directly
Have owned positioning, messaging, and GTM strategy for a product, not supported someone else’s (this one’s non-negotiable)
Have built GTM for a specific vertical rather than a horizontal audience
Have led product launches from strategy through cross-functional execution and post-launch measurement
Have run a multi-channel program (email, events, content, social) with a small team and real pipeline targets
Have built battlecards, competitive analysis, and pitch decks that sales teams actually used
Have partnered with an outbound or BDR team on targeting and messaging
Can turn market research into a point of view, not a SWOT template
Are comfortable presenting strategy, pushing back in front of executives, and moderating a webinar on camera
Use AI tools in your daily content work and know where they help and where they need a human edit
More awesome, if you have
Higher education marketing experience, or a clear record of learning a new industry quickly
Experience selling into multi-stakeholder buying committees
Salesforce ecosystem experience
A consultancy or services firm background, so you know how services and product pitches differ
Experience shaping pricing or packaging decisions
Experience managing or mentoring a junior marketer
Hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot)
