We're Hiring | Welfare Officer
Department: HR / Employee Welfare
Location: Hyderabad
Experience: 5–10 Years
We are looking for an experienced Welfare Officer to drive employee welfare initiatives, statutory compliance, employee relations, workplace wellbeing, and labour welfare programs. The role will play a critical part in fostering a safe, healthy, compliant, and employee-friendly work environment while ensuring adherence to applicable labour laws and welfare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Welfare and Engagement
- Plan, implement, and monitor employee welfare programs and initiatives.
- Manage welfare facilities including canteen, transportation, sanitation, drinking water, rest areas, and medical facilities.
- Conduct employee interaction sessions and welfare feedback programs.
- Address employee welfare concerns and ensure timely resolution.
- Organize employee engagement, wellbeing, and health-related activities.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and employee-centric workplace culture.
Labour Law and Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, welfare legislation, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain statutory registers, records, notices, returns, and related documentation.
- Coordinate labour inspections, statutory audits, and government authority visits.
- Ensure compliance with Factories Act, Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions requirements, Shops & Establishments regulations, and other applicable laws.
- Liaise with labour departments and statutory authorities as required.
- Monitor statutory renewals, registrations, licenses, and compliance timelines.
Employee Relations and Grievance Management
- Handle employee grievances and welfare-related concerns confidentially and effectively.
- Support employee relations and industrial relations initiatives.
- Investigate welfare-related issues and coordinate corrective actions.
- Maintain grievance records and monitor closure timelines.
- Partner with HR, Administration, EHS, and business teams to resolve employee concerns.
Workplace Facilities and Welfare Administration
- Monitor welfare facilities to ensure quality, hygiene, safety, and availability.
- Coordinate with facility management teams and external service providers.
- Ensure proper maintenance of canteen, transportation, sanitation, medical, and employee welfare facilities.
- Support health camps, awareness programs, and employee wellbeing initiatives.
- Conduct periodic facility inspections and recommend improvements.
Health, Safety and Employee Wellbeing
- Work closely with EHS and Safety teams on employee welfare initiatives.
- Support workplace health and safety awareness programs.
- Ensure availability of first-aid and emergency welfare arrangements.
- Participate in employee safety and emergency response drills.
- Promote occupational health and employee wellbeing programs.
Compliance, Audit and Reporting
- Prepare welfare, compliance, and statutory reports.
- Maintain accurate welfare records and audit documentation.
- Support internal and external audits related to labour welfare and compliance.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and corrective actions.
- Monitor welfare-related vendors, service quality, and improvement initiatives.
- Provide periodic updates to HR leadership on welfare, compliance, and employee relations matters.
Stakeholder and Vendor Management
- Coordinate with HR, Administration, EHS, Facilities, Security, Finance, and business teams.
- Manage welfare service providers and external vendors.
- Liaise with labour authorities and government agencies as required.
- Support development and implementation of employee welfare policies and initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in social work, Labour Welfare, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Personnel Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualification in Labour Welfare, Industrial Relations, HR, Social Work, or Personnel Management is preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience in Labour Welfare, Employee Relations, Factory HR, HR Operations, or similar roles.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, aerospace & defence, automotive, or industrial environments is highly preferred.
- Prior experience as a Welfare Officer under applicable factory or labour legislation will be an added advantage.
