Role OverviewWe are looking for an exceptional Head of Supply Chain to shape, scale, and lead our global supply chain function from our Bangalore office. This senior leadership appointment carries full accountability for end-to-end supply chain operations across our active international markets (currently the UK, UAE, and Malaysia), with immediate responsibility expanding as we break into new global territories.
Working in close partnership with our Commercial Operations Manager based in Australia, you will align supply planning, forecasting, and product availability directly with our commercial growth pipeline. Furthermore, you will build, mentor, and foster a high-performing supply chain team in Bangalore, embedding the systems, capabilities, and culture required to support our long-term global ambitions.
Key Responsibilities● Global Supply Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive end-to-end supply chain frameworks, driving operational excellence, cost optimization, and supply assurance across all jurisdictions.
● Team Building & Leadership: Build, recruit, and develop a high-performing Bangalore-based supply chain team, defining clear structures, career pathways, and key performance indicators.
● Procurement & Vendor Management: Lead global sourcing and vendor qualification across CMOs/CDMOs, APIs, excipients, packaging materials, and logistics partners.
Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuity of supply across all markets. Negotiate and manage contracts, quality agreements, and SLAs with manufacturing and distribution partners.
Oversee supplier audits and qualification processes in line with GMP, GDP, and market-specific regulatory requirements. Build and maintain a diversified supplier base to mitigate single-source dependency and supply disruption risks.
● Demand & Supply Planning: Implement and own robust S&OP, MRP, and demand planning processes, optimizing inventory positions to balance working capital efficiency with precise service levels.
● Logistics & Cold Chain Management: Oversee international logistics, warehousing, and distribution across existing and new markets.
Manage cold chain operations in line with GDP and storage standards. Coordinate customs, import/export licensing, and cross-border documentation.
Manage 3PLs, freight forwarders, and customs brokers for reliable, cost-effective service. Monitor and improve delivery, order accuracy, and distribution costs.
● Regulatory Compliance & Quality: Maintain rigorous compliance standards aligned with international frameworks including TGA, MHRA, DHA, MOHAP, NPRA, and CDSCO.
● Systems & Digital Optimization: Own and optimize core supply chain technologies and enterprise systems (SAP preferred) to unlock real-time visibility, traceability, and data-driven decision-making.
Required Qualifications & Experience● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline (MBA or Master's degree preferred).
● Experience: 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical supply chain management, with a minimum of 5 years operating in a senior leadership capacity.
● Technical Expertise: Proven mastery of international pharmaceutical regulations (GMP, GDP), cold chain validation, serialization, and third-party manufacturing (CMO/CDMO) oversight.
● Systems Literacy: Advanced proficiency with ERP platforms (SAP preferred) and advanced digital supply planning tools.
● Communication: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, tailored for seamless cross-border collaboration across multiple time zones.
● Leadership Profile: Demonstrated track record of building, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams from the ground up in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment.
