Role Description The Head of Laboratory is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Ludhiana, responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations and ensuring high standards of testing quality and safety. This role includes supervising laboratory staff, managing workflow, and monitoring adherence to standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements. The Head of Laboratory will coordinate test scheduling, validate and authorize reports, and ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment. The role also involves implementing and reviewing quality management and quality assurance programs, optimizing processes, managing inventory, and collaborating with hospital administration and clinicians to support clinical decision-making. The Head of Laboratory will provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and ethical practice.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong laboratory skills, including hands-on experience with clinical testing procedures and familiarity with laboratory safety protocols.
- Candidates should possess quality control skills, with the ability to monitor, evaluate, and improve testing accuracy and consistency.
- Candidates should possess analytical skills to interpret complex data, troubleshoot technical issues, and support evidence-based clinical decisions.
- Candidates should possess quality management and quality assurance skills, including experience implementing policies, audits, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Relevant academic qualifications such as a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Pathology, Microbiology, or a related discipline; advanced certifications or specialization are an advantage.
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role in a clinical laboratory setting, with demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clinicians, administration, and laboratory staff, along with solid organizational and time management abilities.
- Commitment to ethical practices, attention to detail, and openness to adopting new technologies and methodologies in laboratory medicine.
