About us
At Awesome Analytics, we are not just a company; we are a community of data enthusiasts, problem solvers and innovators. Our mission is to empower organisations with data-driven insights that transform how they make decisions. As a remote-first data analytics company based in India, we have redefined the way we work to make data analytics accessible and enjoyable for the people who build it.
Our mission: automate your work, and elevate your life.
About the role
We build bespoke data and workflow platforms for enterprise clients across industry: dashboards, onboarding systems, CRMs, finance and timesheet automation, deal pipelines and document-intelligence tools. A typical build is a React front end, a FastAPI (Python) back end and a PostgreSQL data model, deployed into the client's own Azure or AWS tenant with single sign-on. You will own features end to end - the data model, the API, the interface and the deployment. Our developers assist the scoping and architecture. This is a build-and-think role.
How we build, and what we are really hiring for
Our delivery is AI-assisted. Your engineering effort concentrates on the data model, on reviewing the generated output, on edge cases, on hardening integrations and on getting the thing into production.
We want someone who is genuinely fast with Ai-assisted tools and equally rigorous about what they let through. If that is already how you work, then you will fit right in.
Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Build and ship full-stack features end to end: React + TypeScript on the front end, FastAPI (Python) on the back end, PostgreSQL schema and migrations.
- Design and evolve relational data models, and write and tune the SQL behind dashboards and reports.
- Integrate third-party systems and APIs - Microsoft Graph / SharePoint, ERP and accounting exports, payment gateways, mapping, OCR and LLM services.
- Use AI coding tools as a standard part of delivery, and own the review, testing and hardening of everything they produce.
- Deploy and operate applications in client-owned Azure or AWS environments - containers, CI/CD, single sign-on, secrets management, backups and basic monitoring.
- Collaborate with clients and the internal development team to agree project goals and plan features and improvements across new and existing projects.
- Test functionality across both frontend and backend to ensure quality, performance and reliability.
- Maintain existing codebases, including troubleshooting bugs and adding new features.
- Scale projects based on client feedback, and record and report on work done.
- Participate in a team-oriented environment to develop complex web-based applications.
Technical skills
Must have
- React with TypeScript (Vite) - component-driven UI, state management, forms and role-aware interfaces.
- Python, with FastAPI - Pydantic models, SQLAlchemy, Alembic migrations. Django or Flask experience is fine if you are ready to work in FastAPI.
- PostgreSQL - schema design, migrations, complex queries and query tuning. Strong MySQL experience transfers, but Postgres is our standard.
- REST API design and integration of third-party and OAuth-protected enterprise APIs.
- HTML5, CSS / SCSS and responsive layout, with Tailwind or Bootstrap.
- Cloud deployment on Azure or AWS - virtual machines or app services, managed PostgreSQL, object storage, DNS and SSL.
- Authentication and web security - OAuth 2.0 / single sign-on, JWT, role-based access control, and protection against SQL injection, XSS and CSRF.
- Fluent and critical use of AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar) - able to drive them hard and to catch what they get wrong.
- Automated testing (pytest, Jest or equivalent), plus disciplined debugging and troubleshooting.
- Git / GitHub - branching, pull requests and code review.
- A portfolio of applications and programs to your name, with a GitHub or live-project link.
- Problem-solving skills and a critical mindset.
- Love for building
Good to have
Everything below is welcome, and none of it is a gate. Tell us which of these you have rather than ruling yourself out for the ones you do not.
- Docker and containers, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), and infrastructure-as-code.
- Power BI, or another BI tool connected directly to a relational database.
- LLM API integration (Anthropic Claude, Azure OpenAI) - retrieval, prompt design, and token and cost control.
- Azure Entra ID, or Microsoft 365 / Graph API integration.
- Node.js and Next.js.
- ETL and scheduled data-ingestion pipelines.
- PHP / Laravel, for maintaining a small book of legacy client applications. Useful, but not what the role is built around.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of work experience as a full stack web developer, with at least 1 year of that on Python and a modern JavaScript framework in production.
- A degree in IT, computer science or a related field. A strong portfolio of shipped work will be considered in place of a formal degree.
- Professional working English - you will be on client requirement calls, demos and walkthroughs.
- Your own laptop and a reliable broadband connection. This is a remote role and you will connect to an Awesome Analytics VM.
- Legally authorised to work in India.
How we work
- Remote-first, anywhere in India. You design your workday around doing your best work, not around a commute.
- An Awesome Analytics-provisioned VM inside our network, with an in-domain company account.
- Direct client exposure from early on - requirement calls, demos and walkthroughs, not just tickets.
- GitHub for code; Google Workspace, Slack and Notion for everything else.
Why work with us
- Work that ships. Our projects go into production inside real enterprises. You will see the results of your work in someone's actual workflow, not in a backlog.
- A stack worth learning on. React, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, cloud deployment and AI-assisted delivery, on live client builds. This is the toolchain the next ten years of this work is being built on, and you will be using it every day rather than reading about it.
- Range, then depth. You will touch the data model, the API, the interface, the integration and the deployment. We would rather you were competent across the whole path and excellent at a deliberate few things than boxed into one layer.
- Real investment in your growth. Mentorship, training and a clear path forward, whether you are a few years in or well established. We back people who are learning faster than their job description.
- An inclusive team. We value different perspectives and backgrounds, and we are committed to an environment where everyone's voice is heard. Engineering is a mindset, not just a degree.
To apply
Complete the application form below. Bring a GitHub or portfolio link, and be ready to walk us through one project you built in depth - the architecture, the data model, and the decisions you would now make differently.
