We are looking for a skilled and experienced Shopify Developer who can develop, customize, optimize, and maintain Shopify and Shopify Plus stores. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Shopify themes, Liquid, custom sections, apps, integrations, APIs, and ecommerce functionality.
You will work closely with our design, SEO, marketing, and project management teams to deliver scalable and conversion-focused Shopify stores for clients across different industries and markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify and Shopify Plus stores.
- Build and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and JSON.
- Create custom Shopify sections, templates, blocks, snippets, and reusable components.
- Convert Figma/PSD/Adobe XD designs into responsive Shopify storefronts.
- Develop and customize product pages, collection pages, cart, search, navigation, mega menus, and checkout-related experiences.
- Configure and integrate Shopify apps, third-party tools, payment gateways, shipping solutions, and marketing platforms.
- Work with Shopify APIs, Storefront API, Admin API, webhooks, and third-party integrations when required.
- Develop custom ecommerce functionalities including product options, pricing logic, discounts, subscriptions, bundles, and custom customer experiences.
- Work with Shopify Markets, multi-currency, localization, international storefronts, and regional ecommerce requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Shopify theme, app, cart, checkout, product, variant, and integration-related issues.
- Optimize Shopify stores for performance, Core Web Vitals, SEO, mobile responsiveness, and conversion rate optimization.
- Implement technical SEO requirements including structured data, canonical URLs, metadata, redirects, sitemap considerations, and crawl-friendly site structures.
- Perform Shopify store migrations, theme upgrades, product/catalog migrations, and platform integrations.
- Collaborate with designers, SEO specialists, content teams, and project managers for end-to-end project delivery.
- Conduct quality assurance, cross-browser testing, responsive testing, and pre-launch checks.
- Maintain clean, scalable, well-documented, and reusable code.
- Use Git/version control and follow development best practices.
- Stay updated with Shopify platform updates, new features, APIs, themes, apps, and ecommerce development trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Shopify development.
- Strong proficiency in Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JSON, and AJAX.
- Strong experience with Shopify theme development and customization.
- Experience creating custom Shopify sections, blocks, templates, snippets, and theme components.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify Admin and Storefront APIs.
- Experience integrating Shopify apps, third-party APIs, payment gateways, shipping platforms, and marketing tools.
- Strong understanding of Shopify products, variants, collections, metafields, metaobjects, customers, orders, discounts, and inventory.
- Experience with Shopify Markets, multi-currency, international stores, and localization is an advantage.
- Good understanding of ecommerce SEO, website performance, Core Web Vitals, and conversion optimization.
- Experience troubleshooting complex Shopify theme and app-related issues.
- Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
- Strong understanding of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience working with Figma or other design/prototyping tools.
- Knowledge of Shopify Plus and advanced Shopify development is an added advantage.
- Experience with Shopify migrations from platforms such as Magento, WooCommerce, or custom ecommerce platforms is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Prior experience working with multiple client projects will be an advantage.
Good to Have
- Shopify Partner/Shopify certification.
- Experience with Shopify Plus.
- Knowledge of Shopify Functions and Checkout Extensibility.
- Experience with Headless Shopify and Storefront API.
- Experience with React, Node.js, or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Knowledge of Shopify Hydrogen.
- Experience with subscription, loyalty, review, search, personalization, and product customization apps.
- Understanding of Google Merchant Center and ecommerce tracking.
- Familiarity with GA4, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and conversion tracking.
- Experience working with international ecommerce stores and multiple Shopify Markets.
