ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring a Fullstack Tech Lead to own the architecture and delivery of a large-scale web platform. This is a hands-on leadership position: you will set technical direction, write and review production code, and lead a team of fullstack engineers. You will also act as the primary technical point of contact for our client's core technology team in the US, so strong written and spoken communication is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the end-to-end architecture across the Next.js frontend and the Node.js services behind it.
- Write and review production code. Define engineering standards and hold the team to them.
- Lead technical discussions with the client's core technology team on scope, design decisions, estimates and risk.
- Translate product requirements into technical plans, milestones and realistic delivery timelines.
- Mentor engineers through code review, pairing and design sessions.
- Own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, application performance and production reliability.
- Set standards for AI-assisted development, including how generated code is reviewed and tested before it ships.
- Evaluate technical trade-offs and document the reasoning behind architectural decisions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years building production web applications, including at least 2 years leading or mentoring engineers.
- Advanced TypeScript across both frontend and backend.
- Deep production experience with React and Next.js, covering rendering strategy, data fetching, routing and performance.
- Strong Node.js as a primary backend language, with proven API and service design experience.
- Hands-on ownership of cloud infrastructure on AWS. Equivalent depth on GCP or Azure will be considered.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to lead technical conversations with senior stakeholders.
- Practical use of AI coding assistants in production work, with the judgement to validate what they generate.
- Experience delivering in distributed, remote-first engineering teams.
