Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Full-Stack Engineer to architect and build a digital
advertising budget management platform from the ground up. This platform automates budget
pacing, campaign scheduling, and quality assurance for paid media campaigns running across
major ad platforms — Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok — through a
unified third-party API.
This is a greenfield build. As the Lead Engineer you will own the technical architecture, make
stack and infrastructure decisions, and be responsible for the reliability of a system that
executes scheduled, business-critical operations outside of business hours. You will work
closely with a Product Manager (client-side) and a Junior Engineer, and will interface directly
with the outsourced DevOps vendor.
Responsibilities
Architecture & Technical Leadership
• Design and own the end-to-end technical architecture of the platform including the Budget
Engine, Scheduler, Unified API Connector, Campaign Intake Module, and Dashboard
• Make and document key technical decisions: database design, API abstraction strategy,
scheduling infrastructure, and deployment approach
• Establish coding standards, code review process, and engineering best practices for the
team
• Guide and mentor the Junior Engineer, reviewing their code and providing technical
direction
• Collaborate with the outsourced DevOps vendor on infrastructure setup, CI/CD pipelines,
and monitoring
Core Platform Development
• Build the Budget Engine: dynamic daily budget calculation logic supporting even pacing,
front-loaded pacing, mid-flight changes, campaign pauses, and extensions
• Build the Scheduler: reliable, time-based job execution for budget pushes, campaign
launches, and status changes — including off-hours and holiday periods
• Build and maintain the Unified API Connector: authenticated integration with Unified.to
covering Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok — handling push and pull
operations, rate limits, retries, and error handling
• Build the Audit Log: immutable, timestamped record of every budget decision, push event,
and manual override
• Build the Campaign Intake Module: structured data intake with validation against external
order management data
Reliability & Operations
• Design and implement retry logic, alerting, and failure recovery for all scheduled push
operations
• Ensure the scheduler operates reliably 24/7, including weekends and public holidays
• Implement role-based access control and secure credential management for all third-party
API keys
• Support post-launch platform operations — bug fixes, Unified.to API updates, performance
improvements
Requirements
• 5+ years of full-stack software development experience
• Strong Python backend development skills — API design, background job processing,
database modeling
• Proficient in React for building operational dashboards and data-driven UIs
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs, including authentication, rate limiting,
pagination, and error handling
• Solid experience with background job / task scheduling libraries (e.g. Celery,
APScheduler, or equivalent)
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and data modeling for
audit/log use cases
• Demonstrated experience building production systems that must operate reliably outside
business hours
• Experience leading or mentoring junior developers
• Strong written communication — able to document architecture decisions and API
contracts clearly
• Comfortable working asynchronously with a remote, distributed team
Nice to Have
• Experience integrating with advertising platform APIs — Google Ads API, Meta Marketing
API, LinkedIn Campaign Manager API, or Microsoft Advertising API
• Familiarity with unified advertising API platforms (e.g. Unified.to, Skai, Marin Software, or
similar)
• Experience with budget pacing, bid management, or campaign automation tooling
• Familiarity with DevOps practices — CI/CD, containerization (Docker), cloud infrastructure
(AWS or GCP)
• Experience building data export pipelines or BI integrations (e.g. Tableau, Looker)
• Experience with AI-assisted QA or automated testing frameworks
