Location: Ahmedabad (hybrid) Reports to: Founders Type: Full-time
About the roleWe're looking for someone to sit close to the founders and help make the agency run better. Someone who can look at how we deliver work for clients, spot where time and money leak, and fix it. You'll start on operations and process, move into client-facing work within 6 months, and be positioned to lead ops for the agency in 2–3 years.
This is a build-and-own role. You'll get access to how the business actually runs and be expected to bring structure to it, not just watch.
What you'll actually doFirst 6 months - operations and systems
- Map how work currently moves through the agency: brief → proposal → kickoff → delivery → review → renewal. Find where it breaks.
- Build and maintain SOPs for recurring workflows (SEO/AEO retainers, website redesigns, content production, campaign reporting)
- Track project timelines and deliverables across accounts, flag slippage before clients do
- Work with founders on proposal scoping and pricing - sit in on the conversations, not just format the docs
- Own internal reporting: what's on time, what's at risk, what's profitable
- Sit in on client calls to learn the accounts, the people, and how we sell and service
6 months onward - client-facing
- Take direct ownership of select client relationships (starting smaller/lower-risk accounts, scaling up)
- Run status calls, handle day-to-day client communication, manage scope conversations
- Be the point of escalation before it needs to reach a founder
2–3 years - ops leadership
- Own agency operations end to end: resourcing, delivery quality, tooling, process
- Build and manage a small ops/PM function as the agency scales
- Be a founder-level thinking partner on how the business is structured and run
What we need from you- 1–2 years of experience in agency operations, client servicing, or project management - ideally at a marketing, design, or digital agency
- You understand what "billable," "scope creep," and "retainer" mean in your sleep
- Sharp with tools - you should already be using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) in your daily work, not as a novelty but because it makes you faster. We're an AI-native shop; if you're not already working this way, this isn't the right fit
- Comfortable being in rooms with founders and clients and holding your own
- A working sense of tech and marketing - you don't need to write code or run ad campaigns yourself, but you should understand what SEO, performance marketing, brand identity, and website work actually involve, enough to spot bad scoping or a missed handoff
- Sharp with spreadsheets, docs, and basic reporting - you'll be building the systems, not waiting for someone to hand them to you
- Low ego about the work. Early on this role involves a lot of unglamorous process-building before it becomes client-facing
Nice to have, not required- Prior experience at a boutique or small agency (where you wear multiple hats by necessity)
- Exposure to B2B SaaS or D2C client environments
- Some hands-on experience with SEO/AEO, content, or performance marketing basics
Why this roleMost ops or associate roles at agencies keep you in a lane. This one doesn't - you're in the room for strategy, scoping, and delivery from day one, and the path to owning a P&L-relevant function is explicit, not vague. If you want to eventually run something rather than support something, this is built for that.
