Job Summary
We are looking for a Fabric Sourcing Manager to join our team in Gurugram. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in sourcing fabrics for garment manufacturing and a strong network of textile mills, fabric suppliers, and processing units. The role involves identifying the right fabrics based on buyer requirements, coordinating with vendors, negotiating commercial terms, and ensuring timely procurement while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Source fabrics based on buyer specifications, garment requirements, and production timelines.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with textile mills, fabric manufacturers, wholesalers, and suppliers.
• Coordinate with dyeing, printing, embroidery, washing, and finishing units for fabric development and processing.
• Arrange fabric swatches, lab dips, strike-offs, and sample approvals.
• Negotiate pricing, MOQ, lead times, payment terms, and commercial agreements with suppliers.
• Research new fabrics, textile innovations, and sourcing opportunities to improve quality and cost efficiency.
• Ensure timely procurement and availability of fabrics for production.
• Work closely with merchandising, production, and quality teams for smooth order execution.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain sourcing records, supplier database, quotations, and procurement documentation.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Textile, Fashion, Apparel, or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of hands-on experience in Fabric Sourcing within the apparel or garment industry.
• Strong knowledge of woven, knitted, cotton, linen, polyester, viscose, denim, and blended fabrics.
• Good understanding of dyeing, printing, embroidery, fabric finishing, and garment manufacturing processes.
• Strong network with textile mills, fabric suppliers, and manufacturers.
• Experience in vendor management, supplier development, and commercial negotiations.
• Good understanding of fabric quality, GSM, construction, composition, and garment applications.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
