Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Associate Manager – Farming to oversee and manage all aspects of agricultural operations across Organo’s eco-habitat communities. The ideal candidate will be committed to sustainable farming, organic practices, and regenerative land use, while also possessing strong leadership and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Farm Planning & Management:
- Develop and implement annual and seasonal crop plans in line with organic and regenerative principles.
- Team Supervision:
- Lead and manage a team of farm workers, supervisors, and technical staff, ensuring efficiency and skill development.
- Soil & Crop Health:
- Conduct regular soil testing, manage composting/vermiculture operations, and implement natural soil enrichment practices.
- Irrigation & Water Management:
- Oversee efficient water usage and irrigation planning using sustainable techniques.
- Record Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate logs of farm activities, inputs, yields, pest/disease outbreaks, and provide regular performance reports.
- Community Engagement:
- Coordinate with community members, stakeholders, and residents to promote awareness and participation in farm activities.
- Compliance & Certifications:
- Ensure compliance with organic farming standards and help facilitate necessary certifications.
- Innovation & Research:
- Introduce sustainable innovations, indigenous techniques, and data-driven practices to enhance productivity and soil regeneration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in farm management, preferably in organic or sustainable agriculture.
- Strong knowledge of regenerative, organic, and biodynamic farming practices.
- Experience managing diverse teams and working with rural communities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with farm management software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Passionate about ecological restoration and responsible living.
Preferred Skills
- Fluency in Telugu and English (spoken & written)
- Understanding of agroforestry, permaculture, or natural farming practices
- Exposure to agri-entrepreneurship models and farmer training programs
