About the Company
Responsible for preparing accurate rebar shop drawings and BBS (Bar Bending Schedule) for structural elements based on contract drawings, ensuring full compliance with Europe & UK standards.
About the Role
Responsible for reviewing, validating, and approving the drawings and BBS produced by production detailers, ensuring 100% compliance with international standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare reinforcement detailing drawings for structural components (slabs, beams, columns, walls, foundations, etc.).
- Develop Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) as per project requirements.
- Review design drawings, specifications, and project standards before detailing.
- Ensure correct application of European & UK detailing codes in every drawing.
- Coordinate with design teams, modelers, and site engineers to resolve detailing issues.
- Meet daily/weekly production targets with accuracy and speed.
- Maintain revision control and proper documentation for all issued drawings.
- Provide support to the QC team by addressing correction comments.
- Review all rebar shop drawings and BBS prepared by the production team.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with BS, EC2, and UK standards.
- Check reinforcement quantities, laps, curtailments, and dimensions thoroughly.
- Identify and correct discrepancies in drawings before client submission.
- Conduct quality audits on detailing output to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Coordinate with clients/consultants for approvals and technical clarifications.
- Mentor junior detailers and provide training on complex detailing requirements.
- Act as the technical authority for Europe/UK standard compliance.
Qualifications
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 3 – 8 years of experience in rebar detailing (international projects preferred).
- 6 – 12 years of experience in rebar detailing, including QC/Checking role.
Required Skills
- Hands-on expertise in CADS RC / AutoCAD / Rebar CAD.
- Knowledge of reinforcement types, splice rules, laps, anchorage, and standard codes.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, rebar fixing practices, and tolerances.
- Proven expertise in European & UK Rebar Detailing Standards.
- Strong proficiency in CADS RC / AutoCAD / Rebar CAD.
- Excellent knowledge of rebar codes, specifications, and reinforcement practices.
- Good communication skills for client interaction and internal team coordination.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver on tight schedules.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and ensure zero-error deliverables.
Preferred Skills
- Deep understanding of RC detailing codes (BS 8666, Eurocode 2, BS 8110, etc.).
- Strong visualization skills to interpret structural drawings.
- Good problem-solving and technical issue-resolution ability.
- Strong teamwork and mentoring skills.
