About ScanO
scanO is an AI-powered oral health screening platform backed by the Google for Startups Accelerator. Our computer vision models are trained on over 3.5 million expert-labelled oral scans and detect 40+ oral conditions. scanO is deployed in 1,000+ clinics across 9+ markets, including India, the UK, UAE, South Africa and Singapore.
The role
We are hiring a Dental Product Specialist to own adoption and revenue for scanO Air, our AI no-contact screening system, along with the connected software ecosystem (Engage, Care, cOpilot).
This role sits at the intersection of clinical credibility and sales execution. You will be the person a practice owner trusts because you have stood in their operatory and understand their workflow, and the person who then converts that trust into a signed order and a clinic that actually uses the product. You will carry a target, run your own demos, and close your own deals.
This is not a field role.
What You Will Own
Revenue
- Full-cycle sales for scanO air: qualifying inbound leads, nurturing, negotiating and closing
- Keeping CRM hygiene tight so forecasts are reliable
Clinical selling and demos
- Running virtual demos (Google Meet, Zoom) and in-clinic demos tailored to the buyer, whether that is a solo practitioner, a multi-chair group or a hospital procurement committee
- Maintaining working expertise across the full scanO ecosystem, not just air
Onboarding and adoption
- Explaining to dentists, post-installation, so the device is in daily use, not in a cupboard
- Following up in the first few days to convert installation into active usage
Field and events
- Representing scanO at dental conferences, CDE sessions, study clubs and trade exhibitions
- Supporting screening camps and clinic inauguration events in your territory
Intelligence and feedback
- Carrying structured customer feedback back to product and engineering, with enough clinical context that it can be acted on
How Success Is Measured
- Units of scanO air sold against monthly and quarterly targets
- Percentage of clinics you sold that are actively scanning 30 and 90 days post-installation
- Demo-to-close conversion rate
- Pipeline coverage against target
What We Are Looking For
- BDS or MDS
- 1+ years in clinical practice, dental sales, or as a dental product specialist. Experience in a dental startup or with dental equipment sales is a strong plus
- Solid grounding in dental procedures, equipment and clinic workflow. You should be able to hold a clinical conversation with a periodontist without reading from a script
- Comfort explaining technology to non-technical buyers, and comfort saying clearly what the product does not do
- Willingness to travel within your territory, with a valid driving licence
- English plus the working language of your territory. Tamil is mandatory for the Chennai position.
Who Does Well Here
- Self-starting. Nobody will fill your calendar for you
- Persistent through a long, consultative sales cycle without becoming pushy
- Organised enough to run 15 to 20 live opportunities without dropping follow-ups
- Genuinely curious about where AI helps in dentistry and where it is oversold
What We Offer
- Fixed salary plus uncapped performance incentive
- Travel and communication reimbursement as per policy
- Direct exposure to founders and to product decisions. Your field input changes the roadmap
- A clear path to Senior Product Specialist and territory or team ownership as we scale
