About The Plug
The Plug is India's Business School for Creative Professionals. We believe creativity alone is no longer enough — the designers, filmmakers, architects, and marketers who will lead the next decade need to understand business, strategy, marketing, sales, AI, leadership, entrepreneurship, and venture building, not as electives, but as core literacy. We are building the institution that teaches all of it, live, to the people who need it most: creative professionals learning to build careers, brands, and businesses of their own.
We are early. This internship is an invitation to help build that institution from its foundation, not to support one that already exists. Every process, partnership, and campaign you touch in the next three months will still be shaping The Plug long after this internship ends — that is the part most internships cannot offer, and the part we think matters most.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who wants to understand how businesses actually grow — not in theory, but by doing the work. This role suits someone who enjoys talking to people, solving problems, and building relationships more than sitting quietly behind a screen.
You should be curious, ambitious, self-driven, and highly organised — comfortable communicating with strangers, genuinely interested in startups, marketing, and business, excited about education, and willing to learn AI tools quickly. Students and fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. No prior experience is required. Attitude matters more than experience.
Your Role — Job Areas & Key Responsibilities
You will work directly with the founders, not inside a hierarchy. This is not administrative work — it is building work, spanning five areas that together make up how an institution like this actually grows.
Business Development
- Research colleges, institutes, and creative communities across India
- Identify and build institutional partnerships
- Reach out to institutes for collaborations
- Maintain partnership databases
- Support expansion into new cities and campuses
Sales & Admissions
- Speak with prospective students and qualify leads
- Schedule and support admissions calls and counselling sessions
- Follow up with applicants and maintain the CRM
- Track the admissions pipeline
- Help convert genuine interest into enrolled students
Marketing
- Support execution of LinkedIn and Instagram campaigns
- Conduct competitor research
- Build and grow online communities
- Collect student testimonials
- Support content and email marketing
Events & Masterclasses
- Help organise live online masterclasses
- Coordinate speaker logistics and manage registrations
- Support live Q&A sessions and participant communication
- Create attendance reports and coordinate follow-ups
- Help promote masterclasses across colleges and creative communities
Partnerships
- Reach out to design colleges, film schools, architecture and fashion institutes, photography schools, marketing institutes, startup communities, incubators, creative agencies, and student clubs
- Build relationships that lead to workshops, guest sessions, career talks, masterclasses, and collaborative events
What You'll Learn — Learning Outcomes
This internship is built to give you exposure classrooms rarely offer:
- Business development and partnership building
- Sales, admissions, and CRM management
- Marketing, brand building, and community building
- Growth strategy and startup operations
- Event management and speaker coordination
- Customer journey design
- Founder-led decision-making
- Practical AI tools for business
All of it inside a real, early-stage institution — not a simulation of one.
Who Should Apply
This role suits MBA aspirants, marketing and business students, designers, architects, filmmakers, creators, entrepreneurs, and final-year students — anyone who wants a career in business development, sales, marketing, partnerships, or entrepreneurship, and is willing to start by doing the work.
What Makes This Different
You will work directly with founders and sit in on strategic discussions, not observe from the outside. You will build real partnerships and speak with real students, not shadow someone else doing it. You will help organise educational events and contribute to marketing campaigns that actually ship. Along the way, you will see, up close, how a premium education brand gets built — and leave with a portfolio of real work to show for it.
What We Offer
This internship is unpaid. In exchange, we offer direct mentorship from the founders, real business experience, a Certificate of Internship, a performance-based Letter of Recommendation, the possibility of a Pre-Placement Offer, and access to a growing network of founders and industry leaders. More than anything, we offer the chance to help build an institution from the ground up — a kind of exposure that is difficult to find anywhere else at this stage of a career.
Ideal Candidate
Someone who loves talking to people, is proactive and organised, learns quickly, thinks independently, communicates clearly, is comfortable with AI tools (or eager to learn), and wants a real foothold in business development, sales, marketing, partnerships, or entrepreneurship.
How to Apply
Send us your resume, your LinkedIn profile, and a short note — under 300 words — on why you want to help build The Plug. A portfolio, past projects, or other social profiles are welcome, but optional.
We are not looking for someone to fill a role. We are looking for someone to help build one of India's most ambitious education institutions from its earliest days, and grow alongside it.
If that sounds like the kind of work you have been waiting for a real reason to do, we would like to hear from you.
