Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role based in Hyderabad. The Business Development Manager will identify and pursue new business opportunities across residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural projects, and nurture relationships with existing clients. Responsibilities include generating leads, conducting client meetings and presentations, preparing proposals and quotations, and negotiating contracts in coordination with the operations team. The role involves maintaining a strong sales pipeline, tracking market trends, and collaborating with project and nursery teams to ensure that client requirements are accurately translated into deliverable solutions. The Business Development Manager will also provide regular sales forecasts and performance reports to leadership and represent PlantsShip at industry events, site visits, and client reviews.
Qualifications
- Business development and sales skills, including lead generation, client relationship management, and negotiation.
- Experience with B2B sales or project-based selling, preferably in landscaping, construction, real estate, agriculture, or related sectors.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical or horticultural concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze market opportunities, prepare commercial proposals, and manage a structured sales pipeline.
- Proficiency with basic office and CRM tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentation software, sales tracking systems).
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to handle multiple prospects and projects simultaneously.
- Comfort with frequent on-site visits, field interactions, and coordination with operations and nursery teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
- Prior experience in horticulture, landscaping, or nursery operations is an advantage but not mandatory.
