Role Description The BIM Architect role at LOTUS DESIGN STUDIO is a part-time remote position focused on producing and managing accurate, coordinated digital models for architectural projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and updating Building Information Modeling (BIM) models, preparing architectural and construction drawings, and generating detailed submittals and documentation. The BIM Architect collaborates with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure that models align with design intent, regulatory requirements, and project standards. The role also involves reviewing designs for constructability, maintaining model integrity, and supporting the team with technical BIM expertise. This position requires effective communication in a virtual setting and disciplined time management to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Architecture, with the ability to interpret and develop architectural concepts into detailed designs.
- Proficiency in Architectural Drawings and Construction Drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and details.
- Expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and workflows, with experience in model coordination and clash detection.
- Experience preparing and reviewing Submittals and related project documentation for design and construction phases.
- Advanced skills in BIM and CAD software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks or similar), and familiarity with industry standards.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a remote, part-time environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field; relevant professional experience in BIM-focused roles is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and coordination with structural and MEP disciplines is an advantage.
