Company Description Beyond Fika is a multidisciplinary design studio where the Swedish concept of “Fika” — mindful pauses and connection — is woven into the art of architecture. Founded in 2022 by architect Juwairia Qamruddin, the studio is based in Lucknow, India, with additional offices in Greater Noida, Delhi. A team of around 25 architects and interior designers collaborates on projects of varying scale and complexity across multiple sectors. With over 200 completed projects, Beyond Fika is known for innovative design and contemporary methodologies that prioritize joy, mindfulness, and human-centric spaces.
Role Description The Architect role at Beyond Fika is a full-time, on-site position based in Lucknow. The Architect will be responsible for developing architectural concepts, preparing detailed drawings and plans, and coordinating with clients to understand project requirements and translate them into functional, aesthetic design solutions. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with interior designers and other team members, supporting project documentation, participating in site visits, and ensuring designs comply with local regulations, safety standards, and sustainability considerations. The Architect will also assist in project planning, monitor progress against design intent, and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and studio practices.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Architecture and Architectural Design, including concept development, space planning, and detailing.
- Candidates should possess Project Management skills, such as coordinating timelines, resources, and stakeholders to deliver projects effectively.
- Candidates should possess Software Development and Integration awareness where applicable, including the ability to collaborate on technology-enabled design workflows and integrate digital tools into architectural processes.
- Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar) and familiarity with visualization tools.
- Sound knowledge of building codes, local regulations, construction methods, and sustainable design principles.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture from an accredited institution; professional licensure or progress toward licensure is an advantage.
- Prior experience in residential, commercial, or interior architecture projects is preferred, along with a portfolio demonstrating design capability and attention to detail.
