💼 Position: Bakery & Pastry Chef
We are launching an exciting new bakery and pastry venture in Kampala, Uganda, and we are looking for a skilled, creative and experienced Bakery & Pastry Chef to join our growing team.
The selected candidate will play a key role in developing our bakery and pastry product range, establishing production standards, training kitchen staff and maintaining consistent product quality.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a wide range of bakery and pastry products, including cakes, pastries, breads, cookies, muffins, doughnuts and other baked goods.
- Develop new recipes and innovative products suitable for the local market.
- Specialize in birthday cakes, celebration cakes, cream cakes and premium desserts.
- Standardize recipes, ingredients, portion sizes and production procedures.
- Assist in setting up bakery production operations, including equipment selection and workflow planning.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, freshness and presentation.
- Train and supervise junior bakers and kitchen assistants.
- Implement food safety, hygiene and quality-control standards.
- Manage ingredient inventory, production planning, wastage and food costs.
- Support future expansion and large-scale bakery production.
🔹 Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in bakery and pastry production.
- Strong practical knowledge of cakes, pastries, breads and desserts.
- Experience working in a commercial bakery, pastry shop, bakery chain or established food brand.
- Good knowledge of baking techniques, frosting, cake decoration and pastry preparation.
- Ability to independently manage bakery production.
- Experience developing standardized recipes and training staff.
- Creative, hardworking and quality-focused.
- Willingness to relocate to Kampala, Uganda.
