REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Cloud Platform Expertise
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS compute stack (EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, Auto Scaling) and storage services (EBS, EFS, S3, FSx, Glacier, Storage Gateway)
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing AWS cloud architectures with focus on scalability, compute & storage optimization, security, and cost efficiency
- Strong understanding of AWS networking (VPC, Subnets, Security ACLs), IAM, infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation/Terraform), and security best practices
Kubernetes & Container Technologies
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, deployment patterns, and operations
- Proficiency with container orchestration including pod scheduling, service mesh, ingress controllers, and cluster autoscaling
- Experience with Helm charts, Kubernetes operators, and GitOps workflows
- Knowledge of container security, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Linux Systems Administration
- Strong Linux systems administration background with expertise in RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar distributions
- Advanced shell scripting (Bash, Python) for automation and infrastructure management
- Solid understanding of Linux networking, storage permissions, security hardening, and performance tuning
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (AWS Code*, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code practices and tools
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
- Understanding of genomics or bioinformatics workflows is a plus
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement Kubernetes-based container platforms on AWS EKS
- Architect cloud solutions that optimize for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
- Establish best practices for container deployment, scaling, and lifecycle management
- Implement infrastructure automation and self-service capabilities
- Provide technical guidance on cloud migration strategies and containerization approaches
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across the container and cloud stack
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application deployment patterns
- Document architectural decisions, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Support DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline integration
