### Associate Design Manager — Job Description
**Role Purpose**
The Associate Design Manager is responsible for overseeing the design development and execution of multiple interior projects, ensuring that the design vision, quality, timelines, budgets, and client expectations are consistently met. The role also acts as a bridge between the design team, clients, vendors, contractors, and senior management.
### Key Responsibilities
**1. Design Management**
* Lead and review design concepts, layouts, material selections, furniture, lighting and detailing.
* Ensure designs are functional, aesthetic, practical and aligned with the client's brief.
* Review drawings, 3D views, working drawings and design documentation before client submission.
* Maintain consistency in design quality across projects.
* Guide Senior Designers, Interior Designers and junior team members.
**2. Project Coordination**
* Oversee multiple projects simultaneously from concept to execution.
* Coordinate with project managers, contractors, consultants, vendors and site teams.
* Monitor project timelines and ensure design deliverables are completed on schedule.
* Identify design or execution issues early and coordinate solutions.
**3. Client Management**
* Participate in client meetings and presentations.
* Understand client requirements and translate them into design solutions.
* Handle design-related discussions and revisions professionally.
* Build strong long-term relationships with clients.
**4. Team Management**
* Allocate design responsibilities within the team.
* Mentor and develop Senior Designers and junior designers.
* Review team performance and quality of work.
* Ensure the team follows the firm's design standards, processes and documentation practices.
**5. Commercial Awareness**
* Work closely with management on project budgets and design-related costs.
* Suggest cost-effective alternatives without compromising the design intent.
* Review material and furniture selections from a cost and practicality perspective.
* Coordinate with vendors to obtain quotations and evaluate options.
**6. Site & Execution**
* Conduct periodic site visits to ensure that execution matches approved designs.
* Review mock-ups, materials, finishes and workmanship.
* Resolve design discrepancies between drawings and site conditions.
* Coordinate design changes during execution.
