Role Description The Assistant Safety Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Latur. This role supports the implementation of safety policies and procedures across the facility and project sites. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring workplace conditions, conducting safety inspections, assisting in risk assessments, and helping ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards. The Assistant Safety Officer will participate in safety briefings, support incident and accident investigations, help maintain safety records and documentation, and assist in organizing safety training for team members. The role also involves coordinating with supervisors and workers to promote a safe work culture and reporting any hazards or non-compliance to the Safety Officer or management.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Health & Safety and Occupational Health to support safe working environments and regulatory compliance.
- Candidates should possess skills in Accident Investigation to help identify root causes, document incidents, and recommend corrective actions.
- Candidates should possess skills in Security to support access control, asset protection, and overall site safety.
- Candidates should possess skills in Safety Training to assist in conducting orientations, toolbox talks, and awareness programs.
- Relevant diploma or degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable safety regulations, standards, and best practices in industrial and heavy engineering settings.
- Strong observation, reporting, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate clearly with diverse teams and follow instructions from senior safety and site management.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining safety reports, checklists, and training records.
- Previous experience or internship in a safety-related role in construction, manufacturing, or heavy engineering is an advantage.
